2024 Cloquet City Council seats on the ballot: 

The following City Council seats will be on the November 5, 2024 general election ballot: 

• Ward 3 (two-year term)
• Ward 4 (four-year term)
• Ward 5 (four-year term)
• At-Large (four-year term)

Filing Period 

2024 Filing Period is May 24, 2024-June 4th, 5:00 p.m.

Candidate Requirements

1. Candidate must be an eligible voter.
2. Candidate is, or will be will be on assuming the office, 21 years of age or older.
3. Maintained residence in the district from which the candidate seeks election for 30 days before the general election.  Please visit the poll finder to determine what ward you reside in.  

Filing Documents

• The City Council Filing Packet contains the forms that are required to be filed with the City Clerk when filing for office.  A $5 fee will be collected when filing. 
• The 2024 State of Minnesota Campaign Manual contains information about campaign financial reporting and fair campaign practices.  

Campaign Finance Reports

• City Council candidates must complete Campaign Financial Reporting Forms included in your filing packet.  
• The initial report is due within 14 days after receiving contributions or making disbursements of more than $750.
• Subsequent reports are due 10 days before and 30 days after the general election.  
• A final report is due when all assets are settled and all assets are disposed of in excess of $100.
